Every new character receives 100exps to buy whatever skill, spell or characteristic he wants. Further more, these are the extra trappings you get in different initial career classes:
Academic -
Decent, Lightweight Clothing Soft Shoes or Sandals Knife 2D6 GC
Ranger -
Suit of Good, but Weather-Worn Clothes, including Wide-Brimmed Hat, Cloak, and Thick Leather Boots. Leather Backpack with a Blanket, Cutlery, Tinderbox, Small Cooking Pot, and Water Flask. Sword or Axe Knife 1D6GC
Rogue -
Sturdy but Worn Clothing Boots or Shoes Knife 15 GC
Warrior
