The sun began to creep up above the horizon on this fine morning. The birds were in the trees, singing to each other and all the other creatures of the forest began to awaken and begin their daily activities. As the sun began to continue it's trip higher into the sky it began to shine on a very slightly moving body of a young adventurer. It started to shine on his boots, continued up onto his back, and settled shining right on his face; then he began to awaken.
"Mmm....fuck." was all he said.
He sat up and looked at the sky with a severe loathing, relishing the comfortable feeling that he had luckily acquired during his rest. He stood up, knowing that he was very close to his destination of Raphoe and he desired nothing more then to get his journey over with, find a nice inn, grab some ale and relax for the first time in months. Slicking his greasy hair back as he walked at a brisk pace he allowed a faint smile to creep onto his face. After a few short hours he could finally see Raphoe. He had heard that this was the new land of opportunity and even somebody of questionable moral fiber such as himself could make something of themselves here. He broke into a run and came up to the gate. Seeing no guards around he pounded his fist on it four times and waited.
A few moments later a rather stout guard opened the gate and looked Alistair up and down before questioning him.
"Whad'ye want in Raphoe?"
Alistair smiled at the guard and cooly replied "To make the most of myself kind sir. I've heard wonderful things of your city and I think that it's just the kind of place that I need."
The guard nodded to Alistair. "That'll be a crown, son"
Alistair barely kept a sudden outburst of sheer rage contained as he slammed a gold crown into the man's into his open palm.
"I'm not your son" he growled as he stormed off past the guard and into his new home.
