IC: Alistair was still fuming silently to himself as he strode the streets of Raphoe for the first time. He figured that if he was going to make the best out of this city that he had better familiarize himself with his surroundings. Taking mental notes of dead ends and roofs that were close enough to leap from one to the other on. At least he told himself that's what he was doing, but truthfully he was trying to get as far away from that gate guard as he possibly could. He replayed what that guard had said to him over and over again in his mind. "That'll be a crown, son". Hearing that last word was like a bomb going off in his mind, causing him to lose control. He snapped out of his little mental tangent and saw that both his fists had become clenched and his fingernails were beginning to cut into his palms. He quickly unclenched them and rubbed his palms remorsefully.
After walking for a short while more, Alistair began to wonder what he could do to pull himself out of this dreadful mood. Then, as if by fate he came around a corner and saw a typical smithy sign. With a sly smile to himself he strode in and began scanning over all the different metal goods that the store had to offer.
"Anything I can help you with today?"
"Yes sir you can. I'm looking for a crowbar, do you have any?"
The man nodded slowly and pointed Alistair to a shelf behind him. As Alistair set his eyes upon the equipment he could feel his bad mood begin to abate. He quickly skipped up to the counter and dropped five crowns in front of the man. He knew that it wouldn't cost that much, but he didn't care. He had his crowbar, the sun was setting, and he had a plan and for tonight that's all he needed. He rushed out of the smithy and strode down the streets, keeping a close eye on the types of houses that were around him.
