Kaichun had been riding for three straight days when, on the fourth, he finally saw the fork in the road the last traveler had spoken of. Although it was still early morning the farmers were already up and about, scraping the dirt as they do best. Having grown up with warfare and hunting, Kaichun had no respect for these men slaving day in and day out with no prospects or ambitions, barely managing a meagre living on account of fear of some Prince. Kaichun scoffed and sped up, taking the right hand road towards the city of Raphoe and watched the gatehouse in the distance. Having grown accustomed to the usual procedures regarding entering cities, Kaichun unstrung his bow, strapped it to his saddle and began loosening up his saddle bags for inspection as he approached the gatehouse and its five guards. Coming to a stop some feet from the guards, the Hung dismounted and stretched his arms down, palms facing out. "Any firearms or contraband?" one of the guard asked, approaching Kaichun and his pony. "None." "Right, anything in the bags?" the man asked, already rummaging through them. Kaichun neglected asking. "'Kay, it's three crowns for you and your donkey to enter Raphoe." he withstood, slightly irate with the foreigner's lack of response although he was accustomed to this. Ignoring the comment on his 'donkey', Kaichun dropped the requested amount of coins into the guard's open hand and went past him as the gates opened, granting him entrance to the city. Leading his pony through the gates, Kaichun muttered a silent insult in Hung aimed at the guards before walking off. (( Fucking third time I write this Went from 8 to 4 to 2 paragraphs ))

(Well, y'see I would give this something like a 15 xp, but you lose 5 xp for having Kacihun's bow slung already and you forgot to mention seeing potatoes or turnips ) As Kaichun enters the gates he is fully thrust for the first time into the hustle and bustle of the Raphoe city life. The streets are full of character at this time of day, people can be see at almost every window and moving through almost every possible passageway, of which there are many! On the fringes of his view of the sunlight Border Princetown he will see the gloomy gutterways and alleys, sometimes almost the size of roads, most no more than a child's breadth across. In these dark passages most do not move with casual purpose, most move with chaotic intent...or they don't move at all, lying with a varying level of life remaining.Shortly after you first enter, before you quite get your bearings so to speak, a gangly man in a dark green monks robe hails you, he notes your figure and weaponry and leads you to the side of the busy main road, greeting you with a warming and friendly nature. He bears no armaments himself, save a few pots, pans and his walking stick. Placing a kind hand on your shoulder, he asks. "Trouble me brother of the land, but I have news of great fortune for a man of sword. If you have no more tiring work ahead of you in this city than finding a meal tonight, might I interest your ears more?"He awaits your reply with a smile.

Kaichun just stared at the hand on his shoulder with his brows invading his deep set eyes, he'd never been approached like that before and the man had basically jumped him the second he set foot in Raphoe. Slightly baffled and positively annoyed, Kaichun shrugged the hand off of his shoulder and met the man's eyes head on.
"Doubt you're one of my brothers so tell me what you want, I'm exhausted and hungry." the Hung barked, clearly letting his dim wits and poor manners steer the conversation.

The monk merely glances off the animosity with a casual smile, and quickly addresses the manner at hand.
"Well my sire, this eve at the hour of eight bells on the mighty cathedral up there, there shall be a meet in the inn of the Hog and Hen...which is just off the main street to the right at you're coming towards the middenbridge."
He gives brief but detailed enough directions by adding thumb gestures as he says this. He then produces a leaflet and begins to read short passages before thrusting it to Kaichun.

For a survey of the northern mountains of this area, in seach of tombs, burial mounds and other such relics of the antique past.
The searching to be conducted by small groups each with an allotted region, who must study, survey, map and report...
Skills and talents for scouting and survival are requisite, since each party shall rely on their own resources to maintain them in the wilds...
Good pay, with bonus for each discovery made.

Kaichun's confusion grew as his rugged behavior bounced clean off of the slick tongued monk, whose esteem had reached the point of sissy to the Hung. Sire? Not the smartest sissy, that's for sure he thought with a frown, barely hanging on to a word he's told - the silver lining and fine language serving only to confuse Kaichun more. "... Good pay, with each discovery made." In that very second, Kaichun's eyes lit up. Gold was in his eyes as he spoke.
"Hog and Hen you said?" he asked matter-of-factly with renewed interest in the stranger, "Alright, I'll stop by when I've gotten mine taken care of. D'you know where to get patched up without getting ripped off?" Kaichun glanced at the poorly bandaged wound in his side and let the sting of pain wash off his conscience.

The monk followed Kaichun's eyes to see the red stains for the first time, his own eyes went wide with shock and he gasped.
"Oh my! Here you fall upon the city for sanctuary and I assault you with more danger!...Hold still just a moment!"
The monk places his hand onto the ragged cloth whilst murmuring a droning chant, his eyes are closed. Kaichun's own eyelids flutter and when he opens them again, the monk is smiling at him wiping the blood from his hands.
"Now I'm not sure I can help your pocket sire, but maybe that will do something about the bleeding at least. Blessings of Taal have purged the cut clean and clear of plague and evil. Bind it and keep it washed with clean, warm water. Now to you sire, I wish you fair luck in your travels, and bid you a good day!"
The monk gives Kaichun a low bow before turning to walk towards the gate, his smile staying with him as he disappears into the crowd.
((OOC: You've been healed of 2 wounds, and the wound has no more chance of becoming an Infected Wound provided it's healed fully within the next 2 days. Provided you don't go jumping in any sewers of course, then you would have to take a few rolls on the disease table...
5xp for this bit of banter.))
